My unread book shame | March reading plans

I’ve always known that my to be read pile – or more accurately, shelf – is getting way out of hand.

Recently I watched a heap of videos by Drinking by my Shelf on Youtube, where she has to balance the number of books on her TBR, so that the numbers always have to be the same, or -5.

In a bid to try and get my physical list down, I thought I’d take some inspiration from this and count the number of unread books on my own shelves, to make sure that my goal for the year was to get the total number down. I won’t be getting rid of a certain number of books every month, but I do hope to get the number on my TBR down.

At the time of writing this (which is a little bit in advance of it going up because I fancy myself organised), I have 112.

New year, new reading challenge

man booker

Hello! It’s not my first post of the year, but it’s (hopefully) the first post back after a bit of a hiatus from me. Everyone speaks about creating new year’s resolutions at this time of the year, and although it’s getting on a bit in January, it’s still kind of relevant.

The only resolution I ever make is to read a certain number of books, which this year is set at 52 – one for every week of the year. Will I achieve it? Who knows.

I used to spend ages carefully picking a range of different books off my bookshelf in the hope of inspiring myself to actually follow a plan of books for the month.

So, I’ve decided not to bother anymore, and just to share the books I’m currently reading. Yeah, I’m one of THOSE people. The kind that read four books at once.

A graphic novel haul: part two

I posted a few months ago about my first ever graphic novel haul, which is really the first time that I’ve ever taken an interest in reading those types of books.

However, I ended up hooked on them, which is why I have another couple to share with you today!

My preferences tend to be around memoirs or contemporary stories, but I’ve branched into horror as well (always one of my favourite genres).

It’s quite difficult to adequately describe a graphic novel, so this post is just a short one for today i’m afraid.

September reading plan

Happy September! I can’t quite believe that it’s gotten to this point of year already, but here we are. I’ve got quite an ambitious plan of reading at least seven books this month, but I’m on holiday at the end of the month so I’m hoping that I can up that a little bit and maybe even finish my reading challenge!

I’ve really picked a lot of different things this month that are totally different to what I normally go for, so hopefully it all goes well.

A recent book haul

I’ve been on an absolute book buying spree this month. I actually had to cut back on how many books I included because this is actually only a small amount of the ones i’ve bought… oops.

Many of them I don’t actually know what they’re really about, as I prefer to go into novels blind, but I’ve tried to speak about the synopses the best I can at this stage!
